As a General Medical/Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical/surgical conditions. Your role will involve comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical/surgical conditions.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical practitioners.
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a general medical/surgical nursing setting.
- Proficiency in clinical skills and patient care management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and independently.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Requirements:
- Right to work in Australia
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Evidence of annual flu vaccination
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations (booster recommended)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and chronic disease management.
