Registered Nurse - Primary Health

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

The Registered Nurse Primary Health will:

• Work in collaboration with the primary health care team to ensure a multidisciplinary, coordinated and integrated approach to service delivery. 
• Participate in the assessment, planning and implementation of care based on individual detainee needs incorporating a holistic approach to primary health care service delivery. 
• Undertake a wide range of clinical duties including but not limited to immunisations, blood collection, wound dressings, health assessments, care planning, medication administration, health promotion and education etc, ensuring care is evidence-based and delivered using clinical guidelines and practice to underpin competency. 
• Provide proficient, evidence-based chronic disease management. 
• Ensure participation in relevant training and professional development for supporting high quality nursing. 

About you:

• At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, including hands-on patient care in an operational setting (non-Telehealth-only)
• Knowledge and understanding in evidence-based chronic disease management
• General unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
