Regulatory Stewardship & Compliance Manager 

Where do you want to go? 

Working in the Crop Science Regulatory Science team at our Hawthorn office, you will be responsible for management of our regulated and stewarded seeds and traits field trial compliance programs to ensure compliance with Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OTGR) licences and guidelines, Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) permits and Bayer stewardship requirements.

Do something that moves you.

• Be responsible for the development and timely submission of regulatory and compliance related reports to the OGTR and APVMA to ensure new biotechnology moves safely through the regulatory process and into the hands of our customers.
• Work autonomously to develop stewardship documentation to ensure compliance with external and internal requirements.
• Communicate Bayer stewardship and compliance requirements through development and delivery of training to internal and external partners.
• Work cross-functionally as an active project team member to support robust stewardship and the Bayer product pipeline.
• Act as the Institutional Biosafety Committee secretary to coordinate and track IBC activities and meetings.
• Assist with product and facility lifecycle management for products within the portfolio.
• Manage the implementation of pre-commercial stewardship programs for canola and cotton commodities.
• Assist the Regulatory Stewardship and Compliance Lead with incident management.
• Obtain and maintain regulatory certifications for all facilities including glasshouses, to ensure full compliance for tracking and quarantine.
• Coordinate the import, export and movement of regulated plant material, in liaison with key internal and external stakeholders

• Strong collaborative relationship skills. This position will see you work with diverse teams and professional groups locally, regionally and globally.
• Proven experience in a regulatory or scientific stewardship position and an understanding of agricultural products and systems would be highly regarded, however a willingness to learn and conscientious attitude are vital.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and first-class organisational skills.
• Be able to drive outcomes from cross functional teams, by utilizing your strong influencing skills without having a direct reporting line.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to articulate and confidently communicate complex information with a range of stakeholders.
