About the role

The Relationship Manager role sits within the APS Member Groups portfolio which provides member services and supports our hard working and dedicated members with their group activities and administration.

The Relationship Manager’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with Member Groups to create and execute activity-based plans aligned with APS's strategic goals and provide administrative support to help meet the needs of APS Member Groups 
  • Relationship Building: Build long-term relationships with Member Group leaders to support their roles and activities.
  • Policy Education: Quickly address issues and educate members on governance, finance, and event guidelines.
  • Growth Opportunities: Identify and strategise ways to grow membership and improve retention.
  • Best Practices: Stay updated on volunteer group best practices to enhance member satisfaction.
  • CRM Management: Maintain data integrity in the CRM system and generate membership reports as needed.

Our ideal candidate

The nature of the Relationship Manager role demands excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills. It is essential that the Relationship Manager inspires confidence and trust. Individuals must also have the ability to research and analyse information, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and to present and explain complex information clearly and simply.

Key selection criteria

  • Extensive work experience as a high-level administrator preferably within a customer service or membership organisation
  • Excellent customer service focus, skills and experience in understanding and analysing customer/member experiences
  • Proficiency working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Content Management Systems (CMS) with ability to run reports and analyse data is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong experience in providing secretariat support for committee meetings, including working with individual and group travel bookings
  • While not essential, experience in copywriting, web and digital content creation will be highly regarded
