Job Description

Associate Director - Mergers and Acquisitions (Natural Resources)

Deal Advisory, Perth

Our Perth Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team is experiencing strong deal flow and growth. To support this success and to continue our growth, there is a new opportunity for a high-performing, motivated individual to join the team, with a particular focus on natural resources and public market transactions.

KPMG advises and supports our ENR and Industrial sector clients (both domestic and international) across a range of transactions, including buy side, sell side, acquisitions, mergers, divestments, takeover response, and strategic equity capital raisings.

You will work closely with the national Head of Mining & Metals M&A, also based in Perth. This is a market facing role where you will play a key part in generating, evaluating, pitching, and executing high impact transactions, developing our team and its market opportunities.

KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice is one of the largest nationally, closely connected to our international KPMG networks, allowing us to deliver cross border engagements for high-profile clients, both in the public and private markets.

Your opportunity – Associate Director

  • You will directly support and engage personally with a diverse range of clients.
  • From day one you will engage on live, interesting transactions with direct and consistent client interaction.
  • Be part of generating, analysing, structuring, and executing significant deal flow across growth sectors.
  • Opportunities and pathways for high quality professional development, advance to more senior roles and to widen the team offerings.
  • Be encouraged and supported to identify, investigate, and pursue business development opportunities.

How are you extraordinary?

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. Your skills and experience could include:

  • Recent and market proven Corporate Finance or M&A experience delivering transactions.
  • Exposure to Natural Resources sector is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a close-knit team environment and contribute to the team’s culture and success.
  • Appetite to be first to market, developing deal flow and building your network to originate mandates.
  • Conviction to deliver complex opportunity assessments, due diligence, and execution across the full breadth of M&A deals.
  • Sound understanding of the market and economic trends, the issues impacting our clients and a voice in the market.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
