Working arrangements: The work is to be performed within Services Australia's offices. Hybrid work from home arrangements will be considered on a case by case basis with the manager.

Length of contract: 12 months

Contract Extension: 18 months (1x 12 month + 1x 6 months)

Security clearance: Ability to obtain Baseline clearance

Rates: $140 - $160 per hour (inc. super)


Services Australia is seeking a Cyber Architect within the Enterprise, Solution, Technology and Information Architects, including Senior Manager and Expert levels, to help the agency support and drive architectural decisions in alignment with architecture principles.

Utilising iterative processes, Architects create structured designs embodying the key principles, methods and models that describe the organisation's future state, and that enable its evolution. Architects work under general direction of senior staff to prepare complex architectural models and design detailed aspects of an enterprise architecture. The role is responsible for the provision of expert advice and guidance to reduce complexity across architecturally significant projects and enterprise programs.

Main Duties:

• Deliver cyber subject matter expertise to the creation and maturity of our agency’s architectures.
• Contribute to development of information security policy, standards and guidelines utilising contemporary industry best practices such as security by design.
• Obtain and act on vulnerability information and security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems.
• Undertake current state analysis of the Cyber Security division and understand, document and redesign business processes, capabilities and other business architecture artefacts as needed.
• Provide expert technical advice, support, and recommendations on security best practices, in addition to recommendation of security/access models.

• Ensure security regulations are observed at all times and ICT teams follow the methodology.
• Identify and monitor risks, develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Architect the security solutions to support and align to Services Australia’s cyber security and business/ICT requirements.
• Document, present, and discuss the end-to-end security architecture and solution options, recommendations and implications, and facilitate and support the decision process.
