Job Description

In this permanent full-time role, based in Richmond, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the organisation’s Application databases. You will be part of the IT Database team and report to Senior Database Administrator.

You will make an impact by:

  • Ensuring that the organization's databases are fully functional and operating at optimal performance.
  • Addressing database issues related to supporting diverse application systems and handling large data sets.
  • Guaranteeing that the information stored in databases is readily accessible when required.
  • Collaborating with users across various departments within the hospital to understand their IT needs and requirements.
  • Managing database services, implementing tuning strategies, and adhering to configuration best practices.

You will have:

  • Strong technical experience and knowledge in supporting critical business systems within large organizations.
  • Solid background in implementing, supporting, and managing Microsoft SQL Database environments.
  • Advanced MS SQL programming skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in database clustering, AlwaysOn availability groups, replication, performance optimization, and SQL/T-SQL tuning.
  • Proven ability to implement, support, and maintain databases and applications in Windows Server environments.
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills with a strong capability to resolve database and application issues.
  • Good understanding of cloud concepts and technologies, particularly Azure.
  • Experience in project-based work and the ability to contribute effectively in collaborative environments.
