Karadi Aboriginal Corporation's values are deeply focused on pride in our culture, respect, accountability, empowerment, service quality, leadership, and inclusion. Our mission respects these values by ensuring that we provide integrated health and family services that promote physical, cultural, social, and emotional well-being to the Aboriginal community.

Position objective – a Deadly Choice is a healthy choice:

Deadly Choices aims to empower Aboriginal people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, eat good food and exercise daily. Deadly Choices also encourages our people to access their local Aboriginal Health Service and complete an annual ‘health check’.

The role will:

  • Plan, organise and deliver the Deadly Choices education program to schools and communities.
  • Facilitate and role model key health messages and Deadly Choices education program modules, including but not limited to: leadership, chronic disease, physical activity, nutrition, harmful substances, and tobacco and smoking cessation.
  • Distribute health information/program materials and support participants in making healthy lifestyle choices and understanding risk factors.
  • Provide direct positive lifestyle, and health education messaging, support and materials.
  • Be part-time – 3 days per week
  • Be able to work from home when not delivering programs.

What we’re looking for in a candidate

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
