Job Description

  • Based in Narre Warren, on the lands of the Wurundjeri, Boon Wurrung & Bunurong Peoples
  • Ongoing full-time position
  • $101,578.17 negotiable + 11.5% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

The Pathways to Resilience Southern program supports individuals and families to heal from the impacts of family violence. Delivered in partnership with Uniting and the Australian Childhood Foundation, the program offers individual counselling, group programs, and support for children and young people.

Services are trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and delivered either face-to-face at an Each centre or online. Our experienced team creates safe, respectful spaces where people feel heard and supported.

Your role, your impact

As a Family Violence Therapeutic Specialist, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality therapeutic support to individuals, children, young people, and parents/carers to promote recovery from abuse, trauma, family violence, and loss.
  • Conduct specialised trauma assessments and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Use the MARAM framework to ensure risk and safety are continuously assessed and reviewed.
  • Facilitate safe, inclusive, and respectful therapeutic engagement, empowering consumers to be active participants in decisions impacting their lives.
  • Promote relational healing and connection between children/young people and their parent/carer using trauma- and developmentally-informed approaches.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive support, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTIQ+, and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) consumers.
  • Contribute to workforce capacity building through training and workshops.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals to deliver a coordinated, holistic response to client needs.

Who we’re looking for

 You're a compassionate, skilled clinician with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline (and eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body).
  • Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to victim/survivors of family violence and those affected by complex trauma.
  • Sound knowledge of the impact of trauma, attachment disruption and neurobiology on development and behaviour.
  • The ability to prioritise the voices and lived experiences of children and young people within their family or care contexts.
  • A strong intersectional practice lens and experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and collaborative skills.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
