Job Description

About the Opportunity

Minderoo Foundation is seeking an experienced and visionary Manager, Arts & Culture to join our Communities Focus Area. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and delivery of innovative arts partnerships and programs that harness the power of creativity to drive meaningful social impact—particularly in early childhood settings. You will design strategic initiatives aligned to Minderoo’s mission, leveraging the full spectrum of capital, from traditional philanthropy to impact investment.

Reporting to the Head of Vibrant and Connected Communities, you will:

  • Lead on the continued delivery of our WA Arts Strategy, a multi-year grant program supporting impactful arts practice in WA.
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with artists, partners, and key stakeholders to extend the reach and deepen the impact of assigned arts and culture projects.
  • Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, evaluation, and administration of strategic partnerships and projects within your assigned areas of responsibility. This could include a new project benefitting children.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends and best practices, applying new approaches to meet community and sector needs and amplify impact.
  • Collaborate across Minderoo to co-design and implement advocacy strategies relevant to the work of Vibrant and Connected Communities.
  • Oversee financial and procurement processes for assigned projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, timely payments, and effective record-keeping.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops, meetings, and events that support program goals and community engagement.

Qualifications

About You

You are a seasoned leader with a deep commitment to the transformative power of arts and culture. You bring a strong track record of designing and delivering creative programs that are innovative, drive social impact and support industry. You thrive in fast-paced, agile environments and are adept at bringing bold ideas to life through collaborative execution.

Your experience and skills include:

  • A minimum of 10 years in the arts, cultural or creative industries, ideally with formal qualifications in arts or arts management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Australian arts and culture landscape in context, including public policy, industry development, and community needs, and the broader political and social environment.
  • Experience in philanthropy or public sector funding, including grant-making, governance, and program evaluation (desirable).
  • Experience designing and delivering strategic arts programs for children (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to work across sectors, engaging effectively with artists, arts organisations, and strategic partners.
  • Strong project and financial management capabilities, including proficiency with relevant systems and tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and translate complex ideas for varied audiences.

You are ultimately someone who combines creativity and strategy with purpose—driven by a deep commitment to fairness. You are passionate and knowledgeable about arts and culture, but also about social change and community development.
