Job Description

In this full-time role, based in Richmond and working at other Epworth locations, you will be responsible for the ongoing service stability & management of the Telecommunications, NurseCall, and Alert Paging systems at all Epworth sites. You will be part of the Information Technology, CTO, Unified Communications team and report to the Unified Communications Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Being responsive and attentive with a customer service focus.
  • Ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Telecommunications & associated systems. Including: installation, configuration, maintenance, & trouble shooting, through innovative processes designed to improve Epworth’s Unified Communications.
  • Ensuring high availability and resilience of these systems.
  • Ensuring that the overall systems function to their maximum potential through pre-emptively identifying and resolving Epworth’s needs, & by targeting areas for improvement in Epworth’s Unified Communications systems, associated activities & systems.
  • Actively promoting & maximizing the value obtained from these systems.
  • Actively sharing knowledge and understanding to users and other support teams.
  • Coordinating vendors activities to minimise impacts and improve services.
  • Maintaining plans, schedules and documentation of services and support activities.
  • Communicate with clear and unambiguous language in all interactions, tailored to the audience.
  • Respond quickly and proactively escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Role model and actively promote a culture of high-quality care and experience by ensuring that solutions, practices and procedures are carried out with empathy and compassion.

To be successful in this role…

  • You will have a strong technical & operational understanding of Unified Communications services within a large multi-site organisations, ideally experienced in a health environment.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, as well as vendors.
  • Previous experience configuring and deploying Unified Communications systems such as the ones Epworth use would be particularly advantageous. 

You will have:

  • Minimum (5) years hands on technical experience in Multi-site, Corporate, Government, or Health, in the support of Telecommunications, Text Paging, Nursecall, or similar fields.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
  • Extensive information systems and supervisory management experience in a complex organisation, preferably within the Health Sector or similar.
  • Strong negotiating, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • High level of emotional maturity and personal integrity.
  • Committed to improving patient safety, quality of clinical care and reducing clinical error.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • ACMA OPEN cablers licence (Austel Licence for Telephony & Structured Cabling.)
  • Voice, Application & IP networking service support roles.
  • Understanding of information systems environments in the Health Sector, including the functional and non-functional use of these systems.
