Our team develops customer-facing features for Australia's most-visited media websites, alongside the underlying content management systems and services. We leverage a cloud-first, modern tech stack with a fully automated CI/CD DevOps environment to craft world-class, high-performance, high-availability web applications within small, autonomous Agile squads.

As a Video Engineer within our Platform Engineering team, you'll build video services that scale to large audiences. You'll also implement, design, deliver, and support complex video solutions, and help resolve operational issues, faults, or changes in our Video Streaming and Ad Tech Platforms.

What you’ll bring:

• Knowledge of Broadcast TV, Media technology and OTT streaming

• Proficiency in MPEG-DASH, HLS, CMAF, MPEG

• Hands-on Experience with AWS Cloud Architecture and AWS Media Services

• Experience writing video technical requirements and specifications.

• Expertise in video quality optimisation, including encoding ladders and compression tuning.

• Familiarity with container formats such as MP4 (ISOBMFF) and CMAF, including segmenting, muxing, and stream packaging for live and on-demand delivery.

• Understanding of digital video fundamentals,including compression, distribution formats and signalling 

• Familiarity with video transport protocols such as RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi, and RIST.

• Familiarity with contribution hardware and signal processing in baseband or ST 2110 workflows.

• Understanding of advertisement insertion workflows and DRM.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable but not essential;

• Experience in IAC (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, Python)
