Job Description - Research Analyst

Overview of the role

Euromonitor International is recruiting for an Analyst in Multi-vertical syndicated research vertical in Sydney. The successful candidate will work with Sydney research team, the Multi-vertical regional (APAC) and global teams, global heads of industries and the Head of the Multi-vertical Vertical in the research and commercial development of the industries within the Vertical.

Multi-vertical covers verticals such as Food & Nutrition, Drinks & Tobacco, Beauty & Fashion, Consumer Services & Payments, Home Living and Technology.

You will have an opportunity to study and build expertise in the industries that range from the Multi-vertical as well as the ecosystem of the industries including regulation, government policy. As you continue to build your expertise in various areas of Multi-vertical research, you will have an opportunity to select your areas of industry expertise, project or people management and work with respective heads of industries and wider Multi-vertical regional and global teams to further research agenda, excel in Passport analytics tools such as Industry Forecast Model, strengthen client relationship, and provide country/regional/global strategic analysis through Passport content and PR work.

The Analyst is tasked with building skills and expertise, accomplishing this across four key areas:

  • Research/project inputs to strengthen the Multi-vertical research programme and data
  • Analysis: including a variety of Briefings and Company Profiles
  • Client interaction/Industry engagement/PR involvement
  • Project and people management by recruiting, training and developing in-country analysts. You will take full ownership of project management in multiple countries.

The Analyst will report to the Research Manager of Multi-vertical based in Sydney.

Scope of Work

  • Primary research with key focus on ANZ region, which includes direct and regular contact with key industry players, to collate/discuss data and trends for the purposes of improving country level understanding across a number of product categories
  • Secondary research on industry sources, for individual/team use and for dissemination across Multi-vertical regional and global team where applicable
  • Strategic analysis to be released on Passport and beyond
  • Client liaison, queries, ad hoc requests, etc
  • As you build project management expertise you will take full ownership of schedules and ensure that projects are completed on time and to the high standards that our clients have come to expect from Euromonitor International
  • As you build industry expertise, key responsibilities will evolve further to include client meetings and presentations, industry presentations and liaison (such as conferences), and other industry related work.
  • Right to work in Australia, based in Sydney
  • Hybrid work arrangements
  • Relevant experiences of 1 to 3 years in relevant industry within related space
  • A proven track record in primary and secondary research
  • Superb numeracy and analytical skills
  • Creativity, tenacity and curiosity
  • Opinionated, able to make decisions and willing to take responsibility for decisions made
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Fluent oral and written English
