Research Analyst - Real Estate, Research

Position Description

We are looking for analyst to provide stock coverage of Real Estate within the Australian listed market. The analyst will provide stock recommendations based on thorough analysis, financial models and company/industry insights. The analyst must be able to present & market effectively, externally to fund managers and clients and, internally to institutional sales and sales traders. An Analyst should view their role as an integral part of the team’s success. Effective teamwork contributors; actively generate ideas for the teams development; communicate issues that require action; support each other and ask for help when needed. 

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and differentiated research on the Real Estate sector

• Develop and maintain financial models, valuations and databases for all stocks under primary coverage

• Respond to market news, earnings releases, corporate developments and other market-moving information when necessary and in a proactive manner

• Collect data and compile answers for clients requests

• Accompany clients on visits and produce notes

• Develop and maintain key client relationships

• Actively engage with clients and the relevant sales team members to communicate ideas to ensure maximum exposure/return from the time invested in producing research reports

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above in business related discipline, preferably with finance and/or accounting major

• 5-10 years’ experience in Real Estate. Alternatively a research associate, investment banking accounting, or a wealth management background would be an advantage.

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong understanding of financial modelling

• Strong excel/ spreadsheet skills

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure when required

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• High sense of commercial awareness

• Excellent communication, relationship and management skills to both internal and external clients

• Excellent command of both spoken and written English

• Experience with Python, r an advantage
