Research Assistant (Behavioural Neuroscience Lab)

• Full time, 2-year fixed term position, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Psychology

• This position offers an excellent opportunity to build skills in applied behavioural neuroscience and psychological research, working as part of a supportive team conducting meaningful work with real impact for translational medicine

• Base Salary, (HEO5) $97,446 - $109,104 (pro rata) p.a. + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The School of Psychology is currently seeking a Research Assistant (Behavioural Neuroscience Lab) to contribute to the development of research protocols and driving the execution of research activities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• carry out and assist with behavioural neuroscience experiments in animal models

• streamline and assist with grant application processes

• provide vital research-related advice, and assist with data analysis

• assist with managing day-to-day laboratory functioning

• collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of research documentation.

• data analysis capability, including interpreting and reporting research data

• effective organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines

• experience using research software and tools to support academic or scientific projects

• strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
