Restaurant General Manager

Iconic chef and restaurateur David Thompson, renowned as a world authority on Thai food, is looking for the next shining star to lead the team at his latest outpost Long Chim Gold Coast.

Located in Broadbeach, metres from the beach, the 110 seat restaurant and bar features multiple dining options and open plan kitchen.

Long Chim means to 'come and taste'. The restaurant's relaxed service style is complemented by the sounds of clashing woks and the beating rhythm of the pestle as it hits the mortar. This music makes you laugh a little louder, stay a little longer, and try something new each time.

"At Long Chim we want to capture all the excitement and tastes of the streets of Bangkok. Long Chim is intended to be fun, 'sanuk' as the Thai's say, with food and drinks that everyone loves. Our menu has all the dishes that many Thai's miss the most when away from home", says David.

GENERAL MANAGER

As the General Manager you will report to the Managing Director, and spearhead the overall running of the business, with the key focus to drive sales growth through outstanding leadership and a dynamic approach to creative and marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities

·         Ensure that the Long Chim service standards are world class, through training and development of the team, and a strong in-service focus.

·         Proactively lead the team through outstanding people management

·         Control and oversite of all KPI's through strong office management and an eye for detail.

·         Drive new idea creation across events, marketing activations and social media platforms to grow sales and brand awareness

·         Be food focussed with a passion for culinary, a dedication to menu knowledge, and a keen interest in Thai food and culture

·         Solve problems during operations and take appropriate recovery actions if required

Skills & Experience

You have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role and are a dedicated, presentable individual with an outgoing personality striving to further your career the hospitality industry. You are willing to interact with customers, remember regular guests' names and preferences, work calmly under pressure, and be able to work the hours required, which will include evenings and weekends.
