Restaurant Supervisor/Assistant Manager - Start Immediately

Cognoscenti Food & Wine is a vibrant restaurant located in Belgrave, nestled in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, only 50 minutes from Melbourne CBD. We combine fresh and seasonal local products with European flair, providing an exceptional dining and drinking experience for our patrons. Since our opening in February 2022, we've experienced significant growth and are now looking for experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join us in creating memorable moments for our guests.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Supervisor/Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week plus occasional reasonable overtime, with annual leave, sick leave, and superannuation. Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support waitstaff to ensure a high standard of service
• Assist in the training and development of new and existing staff
• Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and efficiency
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining areas and workspaces
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
• Implement and maintain health and safety regulations
• Work closely with the owner/manager in a hands-on position, including serving tables
• Manage shifts and ensure smooth operations during service

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a supervisor or assistant manager in a similar hospitality environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Thorough knowledge of food and beverage menus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude
• A passion for hospitality, strong wine knowledge, and a commitment to providing 5-star service
