My client is a prominent distributor within the FMCG industry. They are a supplier to independent supermarket operators in Australia and they operate a large distribution centre. They supply to around 300 independent retail stores nationally and to around 15 in this territory which is a Brisbane territory. There is almost no overnight travel involved to get to all the stores so ideally based in Brisbane. An existing store manager (or assistant store manager) with IT - POS experience could be very suitable.
The opportunity has arisen for a retail business manager (area manager) to manage the relationships, development and profitability of the overall company internally as well as externally for the store owners. The successful applicant will be responsible for the achievement of key financial KPI's, maintaining and growing store relationships as well as delivering strategic initiatives in line with company objectives. We would like someone who has (some) Retail IT experience, meaning, familiar with Backend POS systems, can set up new lines, develop reports and has a general knowledge of how systems work. An existing store manager (or assistant store manager) could be very suitable.
Ideally the candidate will be located around the Brisbane.
Responsibilities:
Improve stores, sales and profitability
Backend POS systems, set up new lines, develop reports
Develop sales and store strategies to maximise regional sales
Maintain and develop relationships with all store owners
Ensure implementation of company policies, code of conduct and ethics
Refurbish and upgrades of stores
Recruit new business / sites
Regular communication between all stakeholders
Expenditure control
Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of retail market to identify opportunities for stores via retail principles.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to use your findings to implement beneficial solutions.
Relevant trade experience (could be a previous retail store owner or manager, supermarket desirable)
Managerial experience and an ability to develop and maintain strong customer partnerships.
