At Metcash, we're passionate about helping independent retailers succeed. Our Retail Technology team works directly with retailers across Food & Grocery and Liquor, delivering innovative technology solutions that improve store performance, increase efficiency and support business growth.

This is a highly autonomous, field-based role that will see you spending much of your time on the road visiting retail sites, building relationships, delivering training and providing hands-on technology support. We're looking for a personable, self-motivated professional who enjoys working directly with customers, managing multiple priorities and making a genuine impact in the field.

What you'll be doing

• Building strong relationships with independent retailers, POS vendors and internal stakeholders


• Providing on-site and remote support across a range of retail technology solutions including POS systems, loyalty platforms and eCommerce programs


• Delivering engaging training and coaching to retailers and end users


• Supporting the implementation and rollout of technology solutions across multiple sites


• Managing multiple projects, priorities and retailer requests simultaneously


• Troubleshooting and resolving technology issues to ensure a positive retailer experience


• Supporting strategic technology initiatives and change management projects


• Creating and maintaining technical documentation, reports and system records


• Identifying opportunities to improve retailer performance through better utilisation of technology


• Travelling regularly to retail sites to provide hands-on support and guidance

• A personable and customer-focused professional who enjoys building relationships


• Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently train and support a diverse range of retailers


• Experience supporting retail technology, Point of Sale (POS) systems or related technology solutions


• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines


• A self-starter who is comfortable working independently in a field-based role


• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset


• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills


• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data and reporting


• Industry knowledge within the grocery, liquor or broader retail sector will be highly regarded


• A current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly
