About the Opportunity 
In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the installation of support services for in-store technologies for our retail partners in Metcash’s Food & Grocery and Australian Liquor Marketers businesses. 

You will provide Level 1 support for various IT technologies within our stores, including PDA’s, POS systems and peripherals. In this role you will be liaising with retailers, POS Vendors and internal stakeholders to improve retailer profitability by training and/or implementing and setup of technologies to help drive profitability. Your role will be a combination of in-house and onsite.

In this Role 

• Liaising with internal teams and retailers, providing support for our POS systems (including Host (data) Support, electronic ordering, electronic invoicing and e-commerce programs) and work with our POS system partners when required
• Deliver customer-facing, end-user and internal training on POS systems
• Implementing and setup of integration technologies to meet retailer requirements
• Execute change management projects on a large scale (up to 3,000 stores within a project scope)
• Upgrading and/or preparing individual retailer systems(databases) for the deployment of key initiatives including but not limited to the upgrade of scan data, loyalty and e-commerce programs
• Skilled in data analysis and exceptional attention to detail
• Creating and Interpreting reports
• Create and maintain all technical documentation required for operational support.
• Adding & Aligning Master data on POS Systems
• Data entry of PLU/Barcode data on POS Systems

You’re Likely a Match If 

• Solid experience with retail sector technologies or Point of Sale systems are desirable
• Strong knowledge of retail specifically the Independent Retail Sector is highly regarded.
• You have a minimum of 1 year experience in IT support (experience with retail systems is highly regarded)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Strong focus on process and unfailing attention to detail 
• You bring a positive attitude and energetic team player
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
• SQL experience is advantageous, but not essential
• Skilled in extracting, manipulating, interpreting, and identifying errors in data. 
• Current and valid drivers license (a tool of trade vehicle will be provided for this role)
• Show honesty and can easily build good working relationships with immediate team members, customers and both internal and external stakeholders
