About the Role 
We are currently seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager to join the team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and implement risk and compliance initiatives, and partner with the executive team to ensure risk, safety and compliance regulations are met. 

The Risk and Compliance Manager is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the online systems of internal management and control in order to provide assurance to the executive team regarding the integrity of key operations, systems and control processes in relation to risk and compliance.

Key Responsibilities for this Role: 

• Review and maintain policies and ensure changes are communicated effectively to key stakeholders.
• Update the online risk registers based on risk reviews undertaken.
• The ongoing improvement of risk and compliance programs, practices and procedures including the training of staff as required.
• Consult with the Head of Schools in reviewing compliance policy content in accordance with review dates.
• Compliance with all relevant Commonwealth and State legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Risk Committee meetings each term with ‘risk owners’, to evaluate internal risk assessment processes and to review key risks, including those reported to Council.
• Risk and compliance reporting to the board, appropriate sub-committee(s) and risk owners in ensuring the integrity of key operations, systems and control processes in relation to risk and compliance management.
• Chair the workplace health and safety committee, to ensure the health and safety of staff, students and visitors.
• Keep up to date on legal and/or regulatory changes that may impact the School and make recommendations where existing WHS policies and procedures may require review.
• Review and maintain Workplace Health and Safety including investigating and reporting on incidents including recommending corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
• Monthly Incident/Injury/Near Miss data reporting.

Qualifications, skills and experience required includes:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, etc
• Experience working in a risk, compliance, safety role within the education sector ideal.
• A proactive team player with a positive, can do attitude.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Experience in risk and compliance and related software.
• Ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels.
