Road Infrastructure Delivery Manager – Logan City Council

By 2041, the population of Logan is set to almost double, creating an increased demand on the road and travel network. Investment in a major program of upgrades to unlock the City of Logan’s potential and prepare for the future is key to delivering a sustainable and reliable transport network. Logan’s forward capital program of works has continued to grow and is focused on major rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads and drainage as well as new infrastructure. Now reaching $140 million, key projects such as the $80 million dollar Loganlea Road upgrade are critical to ensure growth meets demand and this role will be key in ensuring the delivery of this and numerous other projects.
Reporting to the Director Transport Services, the Road Infrastructure Delivery (RID) Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of new roads and drainage (capital) programs through the development, design and construction phases. You will oversee four key teams and a workforce of approximately 90 staff across the Roads Program Management Office, Delivery Management Program, Road Infrastructure Design Program and Surveying. Importantly, the RID Manager will need to foster and maintain strong relationships within a complex government environment, working closely with the Director Transport Services, CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Mayor, Councillors and leaders across Council, as well as a diverse range of external stakeholders and contractors.
To be considered for this role, you will bring extensive leadership experience in the development and delivery of major capital programs of works across roads and drainage infrastructure. You will possess an understanding of the importance of construction and design to achieve outcomes and have expertise in contracts and management of commercial arrangements, with the ability to assess and prioritise a broad portfolio of forward capital projects. You will be experienced working within a complex government environment, as well as being adept at establishing credible and collaborative relationships with a diverse set of political, community and internal stakeholders to achieve outcomes on multifaceted challenges. Tertiary qualifications in relevant field of expertise, such as engineering are essential, as well as the experience and ability to obtain registration as a Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) if not already held.
