About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Roasting Lead to lead our roasting operations, ensuring we consistently deliver the quality and flavour we’re known for.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines technical roasting expertise with operational discipline, a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for developing people. You’ll lead the end-to-end roasting operation, overseeing green bean silos and roasters to meet production requirements while maintaining the highest standards in quality, safety and efficiency. Working closely with the Site Manager and Roastery team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring continuity of supply, optimising roaster performance and building team capability.

About you

Lead Roasting Operations

• Oversee daily roasting operations to meet production demand while maintaining quality and consistency


• Manage production schedules, throughput and operational efficiency


• Supervise and support the roasting team, allocating resources to meet targets


• Train and onboard team members in roasting processes, SOPs and safety standards
  

Drive Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure every roast meets Allpress quality and flavour standards


• Maintain and improve roasting procedures, documentation and reporting systems


• Support food safety and quality systems, including HACCP and certification requirements


• Drive process improvements that enhance consistency, efficiency and control

Own Roaster Reliability & Maintenance

• Lead preventative maintenance activities across roasting and production equipment


• Troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis and minimise downtime


• Coordinate external contractors and manage spare parts inventory


• Support safe, reliable and efficient plant performance through hands-on technical oversight
  

Lead People

• Foster a collaborative, positive and safety-focused team environment


• Build capability within the roasting team through coaching and development


• Encourage innovation, continuous improvement and shared accountability
