STATION Sydney is expanding its team, seeking an experienced and driven individual with a focus on sales, while fulfilling the additional responsibilities of working within a commercial gallery environment.
Established in 2011 in Melbourne, with a second space opened in Sydney in 2019, STATION is dedicated to presenting a diverse, conceptually driven exhibition program, with the aim of fostering rigorous, critically engaged contemporary art practices.
STATION represents a broad stable of established and emerging Australian and international artists. We are committed to bringing Australian contemporary art practices to international audiences and presenting opportunities for our artists to be positioned within a broader global dialogue.
STATION facilitates off-site exhibitions, publishes artist books and monographs and participates in local and international art fairs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with STATION artists, and an in-depth knowledge of their practices, biographies and projects in order to advocate for, and support their sales opportunities
· Plan and implement strategies in order to achieve budgets, and lead the sales process, from presentation through to after sales servicing
· Identify potential new audiences and create and implement ways to introduce them to our artists and the gallery
· Develop and nurture relationships with collectors and industry representatives, seeking to increase the STATION audience and identify sales opportunities through networking
· Identify sales opportunities for STATION both within the local and international market
· Assist with all aspects of successful exhibition delivery including documentation, installation, de-installation, and event management
Key Selection Criteria:
· A relevant tertiary qualification (Arts/Arts Management preferable)
· Previous relevant practical experience within a commercial gallery, arts institution, and/or sales environment and a demonstrated ability to manage sales
· Knowledge of, and interest in, contemporary art, both across Australia and internationally

Hours:
Office hours are Tuesday – Friday 9.00am-5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am-5.00pm, however attendance at events outside of these hours will also be required. Interstate and international travel may be required.

Commensurate with experience.
