Job Description - Sales Manager/Director & Senior Leadership - Fuse Recruitment

Bonney Energy in seeking a seasoned professional to fill the critical role of General Manager – Commercial / Sales. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in leading and supervising our Commercial department, ensuring consistency in managing existing customers while developing sales pipelines to expand our customer base. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional sales performance and profitability in line with our strategic business plans.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee our commercial activities beyond retail convenience stores, including fuel and lubricant sales to a diverse range of customer segments such as retail, agriculture, and transport.
  • Manage key account customers, ensuring delivery of sales volumes and revenue targets.
  • Identify and secure new customers and strategic locations to expand our commercial sales portfolio.
  • Develop and implement effective pricing strategies to maximize revenue and return on investment across our sales locations.
  • Collaborate closely with other Bonney departments to introduce new products and innovative sales strategies, ensuring profitability and sustainability.
  • Lead health, safety, and environmental practices within the Commercial department, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee operational and capital expense budgets, providing input during budgeting processes to align with business plans and drive Bonney's strategic objectives.
  • Cultivate open communication and consultation within the team and with external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and successful project delivery.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualification in Business or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in Sales and related roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of managing commercial sales teams and diverse customer portfolios across various industries.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost management, and contract negotiation.
  • In-depth understanding of the fuel industry and market dynamics (highly desirable).
  • Advanced computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales-related tools.

Work Location and Conditions:

  • The role will be based in one of our offices in either Devonport, Launceston, Melbourne, or Geelong, based on the incumbent’s preference.
  • Hybrid work options are available, with flexibility for remote work when necessary.
  • Regular travel is required to support the Commercial team and customers across various business locations.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate customer and team needs
