Job Description - Sales & Partnerships Manager Business Events

The Position:

Sitting within our Business Events team, the Manager, Sales and Partnerships will lead our dynamic sales and account management team. This pivotal role involves driving partnerships and overseeing sales activities to enhance the EGC brand and attract and secure business events to the Gold Coast.

You will do this by:

  • Developing and implementing sales team strategies, business plans, and budgets that align with organisational goals.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of Sales and Account Leads and overseeing sales activities, tradeshows, and account management efforts.
  • Generating your own leads and developing proposals to attract business events to the Gold Coast.
  • Fostering relationships with industry stakeholders to leverage opportunities, generate new business and build the EGC brand.
  • Collaborating with the Customer Experience team to maximise customer lifetime value.
  • Representing EGC at site inspections, industry events and functions locally, nationally, and internationally.

About You

  • Minimum 7 years of sales experience in the tourism industry and at least 3 years’ experience managing a sales team.
  • Proven success in developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of business events distribution systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, tourism, event management, or related field is preferred.
  • Strategic vision and business growth orientation.
  • Inspirational leadership style with strong motivational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  • Project management and organisational planning expertise.
  • Ability to manage budgets and strong financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
