About the Role:

ALS Environmental in Darwin is seeking a Sample Receipt Officer for a well-established team based at our Laboratory in Woolner on Larrakia Land. ALS are committed to exceeding client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients.

The ideal candidate will have customer service experience, be confident and courteous and ready to work in our team.

This is a casual role, with hours falling Monday to Thursday in business hours.

Day to day

• Receiving, sorting and registering samples and recording analysis requirements

• Answering phones and emails and greeting clients in person

• Liaising with clients regarding sample submissions and related queries

• Packing, labelling and distributing samples

• Manually move samples and coolers around the laboratory (typically around 15kg)

• Maintaining sample storage and warehouse stock following safe work practices

• Potential to work in the Laboratory if required

About you

• Positive and responsive with a client focus to deliver professional and quality service.

• Superior attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work

• Strong computer skills including MS Office suite

• An understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards would be beneficial but not critical

• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain productivity under pressure.

• Ability to learn and retain high levels of information

• Flexibility when required to support the team
