The Opportunity
If you like working out how things fit together, planning the best way forward and being the person others rely on to keep things moving, this could be a great next step.
BlueScope Distribution is looking for a Scheduler / Programmer to join the Albury team. BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium product. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.
At our BlueScope Distribution site in Albury, we run a specialist plasma beamline that processes structural steel for customers building sheds, bridges, concrete moulds, platforms and a whole bunch of other projects across the region. The machine is impressive, but the real skill sits in the thinking behind it: understanding the drawings, preparing the work properly, planning the schedule and making smart decisions that help the team deliver safely and efficiently.
This opportunity would suit someone who has worked around machinery, production, fabrication, warehousing, drafting, scheduling or hands-on operations and is ready to step into a role with more planning, ownership and influence. You don’t need to have done this exact job before. If you’re curious, organised, practical and willing to learn, we can teach the technical parts.
What Will You Do
You’ll start by learning the machine and how the team works. From there, your role will move into the planning and programming side, where you’ll spend most of your time preparing jobs, scheduling work and helping the machine run smoothly. You’ll:
More About You
You’re someone who notices what needs doing, asks good questions, thinks ahead and works well with others. In addition, you:
What We Offer
This is a rare chance to build a specialised skill set around a sophisticated 6-axis plasma beamline, while being supported by people who know the machine well and want to see you succeed. For the right person, this can be a pathway into greater responsibility, broader business understanding and future opportunities within the business. You’ll also enjoy:
