School Counsellor - Rewarding Work

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified school counsellor to join our outstanding well-being team at Essington. 

The role of the school counsellor at Essington is to support students to achieve academic success, psychological health, and social and emotional wellbeing via brief therapy, health education, group work and partnering with specialist intervention services as required. The school counsellor works in a confidential setting with students to help them achieve their goals and improve their learning environment.

This is a permanent full or part time position with working hours during school term-time only and an immediate start.

Essential Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in counselling, social work or other relevant field,
• Previous experience in a counselling position,
• Working with Children clearance (NT Ochre Card),
• Police check within the last 6 months.

Desired Criteria:

• Previous experience in a school environment would be advantageous.
