Employment Type: Fixed Term, Part-Time - February 2026 (30 hours/week, Monday - Friday)

Right now, we’re looking for a Second In Charge Educator for our Bingara Gorge Fun Club, and OSHC service located within our Bingara Gorge Community Preschool. This is an opportunity to work during Before and After School Care as well as Vacation Care, Monday to Friday (30 hours per week).

As Second In Charge you will be providing quality care and education to school-aged children while incorporating your ideas and expertise to create a fun-filled environment. You will have the ability to create respectful and long-lasting relationships with parents and carers, as well as your fellow educators. You will have the chance to incorporate your own ideas and experiences into the programmed activities yourself and the Director will create for the children. As the Second in Charge at Bingara Gorge Fun Club, you will be responsible for ensuring the service complies with Big Fat Smile policies and procedures and all components of the National Quality Framework and Child Protection Legislation while working closely with your Director.

What you need to succeed

• A cleared valid for paid work, Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  
• Diploma of Children's Services or related qualification (desirable)
• Identify and Respond qualification (or willing to obtain)
• Strong understanding of the NQF, My Time Our Place, and what “quality” really looks like in OSHC
• Someone who meets the requirements to be a Responsible Person, and is ready to embrace the role of Educational Leader
• Experience as a support worker, SLSO, OOSH Educator/2IC, or engagement with school aged children
• Outstanding skills in communication with families and the community
