About the opportunity:

Catherine McAuley Westmead is seeking a Secondary Japanese teacher to join their collaborative team on a Temporary Full-time basis, commencing in Term 4 2024. The teacher can have any subject as a major; this position will be heavily supported by other teachers at the school. This opportunity is open to educators who are passionate about contributing to a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Japanese to secondary students

• Experience in teaching Japanese Continuers

• Understanding how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs to maximise student learning.

• Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.

• Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning.

Qualification & Experience:

• Tertiary Qualification in Education (or fourth year student)

• NESA Accreditation (Conditional Accreditation also accepted)

• Statements of Service

• Working with Children Check clearance (essential)

• Exceptional communication skills
