Security Engineer

Our Client:

Our Client is a large, highly regulated enterprise environment with a strong focus on cyber resilience, customer protection, and security uplift. The organisation continues to invest in modern Microsoft security platforms, automation, and capability improvement to reduce risk and strengthen its overall security posture. This is a Melbourne-based contract role within a high-performing cyber security function.

What you’ll do:

• Implement and uplift Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access policies
• Review, enhance, and configure MFA policies across the enterprise
• Configure and support Microsoft Entra ID security controls and identity protections
• Develop and support security detections within Entra ID
• Implement security and compliance policies across Microsoft Defender for O365 and Endpoint
• Configure rules and policies within the broader Microsoft 365 security environment
• Document security configurations, processes, and operating procedures
• Apply data classification principles and understand downstream business impact
• Contribute to automation and process improvements to reduce operational overhead

• Proven experience as a Security Engineer in enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Defender (O365 and Endpoint)
• Experience implementing and managing Conditional Access and MFA policies
• Solid understanding of cyber risk, compliance, and exposure management
• Experience working in agile delivery environments
• Familiarity with APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001/27002, and secure engineering standards
