The finance team enjoys long tenure, strong internal relationships and a genuinely supportive environment - a rare combination in today's market. With operations across Queensland and Victoria, the organisation continues to expand, offering stability and ongoing professional growth. Due to retirement and an internal promotion, they are seeking a new Senior Accountant / Team Leader on a full-time permanent basis.
Your new role Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead key financial operations across the Australian entities. This includes day-to-day accounting for multiple property portfolios, consolidated reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, forecasting and contributing to strategic decision-making. You will also supervise and mentor accounting staff in the Brisbane office, helping maintain the team's positive and cohesive culture. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Operations
Manage daily accounting functions for QLD and VIC property portfolios
Monitor bank accounts and support cashflow oversight
Prepare consolidated accounts and board reports
Prepare and lodge BAS and FBT returns; assist with income tax return
Maintain the fixed asset register and lead budgeting, forecasting and the annual audit process
Compliance & Risk Management
Support the CFO with tax matters and insurance renewals
Liaise with internal and external auditors; uphold policies and OH&S requirements
Systems & Reporting
Support financial reporting to centre managers
Assist with maintaining financial and IT systems, including Progenesis and Docs2me
Drive system and process improvements for efficiency
Leadership Opportunity
Supervise and mentor accounting staff in Brisbane
Build effective relationships across all levels of the business
What you'll need to succeed
CA/CPA qualified (or working towards)
Strong experience in a Senior Accountant role
Excellent technical accounting and compliance knowledge
Confident leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive mindset and continuous improvement approach
Property industry experience would be ideal, particularly experience working with multi-site portfolios
