Your Role
Our Sydney Finance team is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Accountant to join us on a 12-month Parental Leave Cover/Fixed Term Contract. The Sydney Finance team covers the full suite of services, including financial and regulatory reporting, treasury, client (technical) accounting, debtor, expense processing and reporting, taxation, capital management, business continuity, and associated risk management and compliance activities.

This role will support the ANZ CFO and Financial Controller in achieving the strategic objectives of the team; to ensure a robust financial close and reporting framework, and that valuable insights and engagement occurs with key stakeholders (the Board and associated Committees, the Global CFO, local business units).

Your Key Responsibilities

• Deliver key components of the monthly and quarterly financial close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across the AP, cash, and investment processes.
• Manage expense processing, ensuring policy compliance and efficient resolution of issues.
• Oversee weekly cashflow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and coordination with investment managers.
• Support IFRS 17 reporting through preparation of reconciliations, data integrity checks, and required disclosures for APRA and financial statements.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, reconciliations, and data flows across feeder systems, SAP, and reporting platforms.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including the SAP S4/HANA upgrade and other process-improvement projects.
• Provide quarter-end and balance sheet reconciliation support across key accounts.
• Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, and global teams to deliver high-quality insights, reporting, and continuous improvements.

Your Profile

• CA or CPA qualified
• Exposure to the financial services industry
