Senior Analyst Risk and Control Advisory and Delivery

Join a purpose-driven Line 1 NFRC team supporting IB&M, including Global Institutional Banking Coverage (GIBC) and Global Economic & Markets Research (GEMR).

This role reports to the Director, Risk & Control Advisory.

IB&M manages CommBank's relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors. Our purpose is to build Australia's future economy and to be Australia's leading corporate and institutional banking franchise.

GIBC leads banking relationship management and provides risk management and capital solutions to clients across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.

GEMR provides clients with regular, real-time research and insights enriched by CommBank's internally generated data, which highlight changes in the economy across income, savings, expenditure and lending.

Within the Line 1 NFRC team, you will partner with GIBC and GEMR to identify, assess and effectively manage risks, ensuring the business operates within IB&M's risk appetite.

Key responsibilities:

• Support identification, triage and operational management of non-financial risks, issues and incidents. Contribute to root cause analysis, document findings and support remediation activities.
• Support the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, including documenting key controls and assisting with control efficacy assessments and improvement plans.
• Execute control testing and evidence collation to support governance and assurance requirements. Maintain accurate evidence and control documentation.
• Prepare concise risk reporting, data extracts and governance packs for forums and senior stakeholders. Draft briefing notes and escalate issues appropriately.
• Assist in the design and implementation of controls for new and changing business processes.
• Maintain and update risk registers, indicators and dashboards. Perform basic data analysis to identify trends and emerging risk themes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities and initiatives to uplift risk capability across IB&M.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a non-financial risk, audit/assurance, compliance or related role within financial services or a large corporate.
• Practical experience in control testing, risk assessments, incident management and remediation activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to prepare clear reports, data extracts and briefing materials for stakeholders.
• Technical proficiency with Excel and data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau is highly valued.
