We are currently recruiting a driven and detail-oriented professional to join our Group Risk function.

As a Senior Analyst in our specialist Financial Crime team, you’ll make an impact by

• Protecting the bank from the significant risks associated with Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), and global tax transparency (FATCA/CRS).


• Providing crucial support in the design and implementation of the bank’s policy frameworks for these critical risk types.


• Delivering timely and pragmatic advice to the business, helping translate complex international obligations into clear, actionable guidance.


• Collaborating across the business to ensure our controls are effective and to help build a strong, risk-aware culture.

About the role

The Senior Analyst, Financial Crime Sanctions/ABC/FATCA/CRS reports to the Senior Manager of the same function. In this key specialist role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the bank’s license to operate by assisting in the end-to-end risk management strategy for Sanctions, ABC, and Tax Transparency. You will help ensure the bank maintains a resilient and defensible framework to comply with complex global obligations, providing advice and effective challenge to help the business operate safely.

Key accountabilities include

• Policy Frameworks: Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of the bank's policies and control frameworks for Sanctions, ABC, and FATCA/CRS.


• Second-Line Oversight: Help provide effective second-line oversight and challenge to the business, ensuring controls are designed effectively and are operating as intended.


• Expert Advisory: Support the delivery of timely and pragmatic advice to the business on complex transactions, high-risk customers, and strategic initiatives.


• Incident Management & Regulatory Change: Assist with the investigation of potential breaches and help the business identify and implement changes driven by new regulations or sanctions lists.

What you’ll bring to the role

Essential

• Proven knowledge of Australian and key international Sanctions regimes (e.g., UN, OFAC, HMT, EU).


• Knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption laws and/or global tax transparency regimes (FATCA/CRS).


• A robust understanding of risk management principles, particularly the "Three Lines of Defence" model.


• The ability to interpret complex regulations and provide clear, commercially sound, and actionable advice to the business.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex risks and build effective stakeholder relationships.

Highly desirable

• Experience in a specialist role focusing on Sanctions, ABC, or Tax Transparency within a financial institution.


• Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline.

This is a permanent full-time position located in Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney or Brisbane.
