Senior Associate, Construction & Infrastructure

The Opportunity

A well-established commercial law firm is looking to appoint an experienced construction lawyer to join its growing Projects and Infrastructure practice in Sydney.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-value development and infrastructure matters alongside experienced practitioners who are recognised for delivering practical, commercially focused advice. You will become involved in significant projects across both the public and private sectors, advising clients from project inception through to delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer seeking greater client exposure, high-quality work and a clear path for professional development within a collaborative team.

The Role

Working across a broad range of transactional construction matters, your responsibilities will include:

• Advising on procurement strategies and project delivery structures.
  


• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction, consultancy and project agreements.
  


• Assisting clients with contract administration, risk allocation and project documentation.
  


• Supporting developers, government entities, contractors, consultants and project owners on complex developments.
  


• Providing commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of major infrastructure, property and development projects.
  


• Working closely with clients and project stakeholders to identify and manage contractual risks.
  


• Contributing to business development initiatives and supporting the mentoring of junior lawyers where appropriate.
  

About You

To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

• Experience practising in transactional construction, projects or infrastructure law.
  


• Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills.
  


• Exposure to large-scale construction, development or infrastructure projects.
  


• A commercial mindset with the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice.
  


• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  


• The ability to manage competing priorities while working collaboratively within a high-performing team.
