Clerk Grade 9/10 - $133,348 to $146,945 plus superannuation

Your role

The Senior Building Performance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of all construction projects within the Program Delivery business unit and undertake the project management and administration of projects within Sydney Metropolitan and NSW Regional Areas.

The role will provide technical advice during design development and construction phases, ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, and administering the contract.

What you’ll do

As part of the Housing Portfolio team, you will liaison with the various business units within the Delivery Division, internal and external stakeholders to proactively improve the delivery process outcomes. Direct reporting is to the Manager Construction, Quality & Administration.

The role requires specialised skills and experience in construction project management with comprehensive and technical knowledge of construction methodologies, compliance standards within the Australian residential construction sector along with extensive industry experience.

You will provide subject matter advice and recommendations to internal/external stakeholders in relation to construction contractual matters, progress payments, safety and compliance during construction, post completion and project finalisation phase.

This role requires travel across NSW.

What we’re looking for

• Provide inputs and advice during project’s design development phase to ensure quality and buildability to achieve the Principal’s design requirements.


• Project manage and report via internal project management tools and IT systems.


• Analyse, review and determine risks and mitigations in the construction phase of projects to ensure Homes NSW meet the statutory obligations and meets program quality, cost and timeline requirements.


• Attend site meetings, undertake reporting and governance, quality assurance, compliance audits; WHS management and reporting; documentation and liaison with relevant internal and external stakeholders and make informed recommendations for continuous improvement.


• Undertake critical inspections to identify, implement, track and report to stakeholders and make informed recommendations for continuous improvement.


• Collaborate with Senior Safety Officer, Construction Quality Administration Manager, Senior Development Manager and WHS Unit to facilitate and conduct contractual and safety audits.


• Provide technical advice to the key stakeholders within the Program Delivery business unit and across Homes NSW on compliance matters such as fire safety, NCC and other relevant Australian Standards and regulations. Identify, report, document and manage the resolution of any issues requiring rectification


• Advise, evaluate and share industry best practices learned externally with individuals and teams where appropriate to ensure continuous improvement in processes, procedures and activities.
