Senior Business Analyst delivering benefits assessment and board-level insight.
Your new company A national organisation operating in a complex, regulated environment is currently delivering a large, multi-million dollar transformation program. As part of its Strategy, Execution & Performance function, the organisation is strengthening its ability to clearly articulate value, performance, and benefits to senior leadership and the Board. Due to a time critical requirement and existing capacity constraints, the organisation is seeking urgent specialist support to assist with upcoming Executive and Board reporting.
Your new role This is a Senior Business Analyst contract role focused on a discrete, high-impact assignment.
You will be engaged to conduct a rapid, point-in-time assessment of a major transformation program already in delivery. The purpose of the role is to provide a clear, evidence-based view of the program's original intended benefits, current delivery status, gaps, and whether return on investment can be demonstrated at this stage. Working with minimal handover, you will quickly get across complex materials, engage senior stakeholders, and produce clear, concise, board-ready insights under tight timeframes.
Key elements of the role include:
- Assessing original program objectives, assumptions, and intended benefits
- Evaluating current-state delivery against those benefits
- Identifying what has been delivered, what is in progress, and what has been missed or is at risk
- Defining and documenting financial and non-financial benefits, success measures, baselines, and benefit ownership
- Applying structured analysis techniques such as process mapping, impact and options analysis, and root cause analysis
- Working pragmatically in a low data-maturity environment using the best-available information
- Producing Executive and Board-level reporting that clearly articulates progress, risks, gaps, and emerging ROI
- Partnering confidently with senior leaders as a practical, outcomes-focused advisor
There is potential for this engagement to extend beyond the initial assignment due to workload and resourcing pressures.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a highly experienced Business Analyst who:
- Has strong experience working on complex transformation initiatives
- Has practical experience with benefits realisation, performance analysis, or value tracking
- Is comfortable operating at pace with ambiguity and imperfect data
- Can work autonomously with minimal direction or handover
- Has supported or contributed to Executive or Board-level reporting
- Communicates clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders
- Brings a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves
- Exposure to Executive and Board-level decision-making
- Meaningful work with visible organisational impact
- A professional, down-to-earth, collaborative team environment
- Hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of two days on-site in Canberra
- Strong potential for contract extension
Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments will be highly regarded.
What you'll get in return You'll secure a high-impact contract role with clear purpose and urgency, offering:
- Exposure to Executive and Board-level decision-making
- Meaningful work with visible organisational impact
- A professional, down-to-earth, collaborative team environment
- Hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of two days on-site in Canberra
