Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer - Aviation to join our Brisbane Aviation team.

Working with major international and regional airport and aviation clients, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of aviation infrastructure projects while helping shape the future of airport environments across Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on ownership of technical project delivery, collaborate with key aviation clients, further develop leadership skills, and play a key role, contributing to the continued growth of GHD's Aviation business. 

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, you will:

• Provide senior technical input and contribute to the successful delivery of aviation infrastructure projects.
• Lead the planning, design and delivery of civil engineering packages, ensuring quality, safety and technical excellence.
• Support, coach and mentor team members, helping to build capability and technical skills.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry networks and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, innovative and practical project outcomes.
• Manage project tasks resources and budgets to achieve successful client and project outcomes.
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, project pursuits, and identifying opportunities with existing and new clients.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of GHD's aviation capability through knowledge sharing and technical leadership.
• Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to support innovative solutions for our clients.  

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience within the aviation or airport engineering consulting sector.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or actively working towards chartership.
• Previous experience contributing to or leading the delivery of aviation infrastructure projects, including airside or landside facilities.
• Familiarity with airport design standards, aviation regulations and stakeholder requirements.

• Project management experience and/or relevant project management qualifications.

• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery drivers.

• Strong client relationship, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A collaborative approach and genuine willingness to mentor and support others.
• A passion for delivering innovative solutions and shaping the future of aviation infrastructure.
• Experience using civil engineering design software.
