Job Description - Senior Claims Manager

Our client is a national authorised representative network. They are looking for friendly, highly driven individuals with great work ethic to join a supportive and collaborative work culture.

Who will you be working with?

You will be working within a nationwide team of insurance brokers. You will be responsible for will be looking after and overseeing a number of their larger clients as well ensuring deliverables in the branch from a claims perspective.

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing a number of their larger clients as well ensuring deliverables in the branch from a claims perspective.
  • Liaise with underwriters, clients, Authorised Representatives and other stakeholders
  • Manage the initial and ongoing assessment of a portfolio of claims within agreed service standards and duration targets
  • Collect accurate information to proceed with a claim and monitor the progress of claims
  • Process payments and ensure claims are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure fair settlement of a valid claim by the insured
  • Support a fast resolution of any AFCA and PI disputes
  • Identify process improvement opportunities


We are looking for someone with:
  • Relevant commercial claims experience of at least 5 years
  • Experience managing complex claims across multiple lines of insurance
  • Experience negotiating favourable claims settlements for clients
  • Experience interpreting legislation and insurance policies
  • Experience identifying potential issues and escalating for review
  • Demonstrated experience in file reviews
  • Experience in appointing assessors and legal firms on claims
  • Knowledge of RG 271 (Internal Dispute Resolution)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
