Do you have what it takes to become a Senior Client Payment and Reconciliation Coordinator?


 


At Smartgroup, we're looking for an experienced Senior Client Payments & Reconciliations Coordinator to join our Client Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating complex reconciliation issues, working with large volumes of financial transactions, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes.


You'll play a key role in ensuring client payments and reconciliations are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements while contributing to continuous improvement across our finance operations.


 


What you'll be doing:



  • Manage and reconcile allocated client bank accounts and financial transactions

  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances and anomalies

  • Process salary packaging payments, EFT files and BPAY transactions

  • Produce and distribute client and vendor reporting

  • Support the timely resolution of client and business queries

  • Manage escalations, complaints and complex reconciliation issues

  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members

  • Maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures and service standards

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency


 


What you'll bring



  • Previous experience in a reconciliations, financial operations or client finance role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience investigating discrepancies and resolving complex financial issues

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and systems navigation skills

  • A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to team success
