About the role

Reporting to the Analytics Platforms Manager, the Senior Data Scientist will develop, maintain and support advanced analytics, machine learning and AI solutions that enable business intelligence, automation, forecasting, optimisation and strategic decision-making across Vinarchy.

This full-time permanent role sits within Global IT and partners closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers and technical teams to build scalable, governed and trusted data science solutions that deliver actionable insights and measurable business outcomes across Australia, New Zealand and our global operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand information needs, priorities and business drivers.


• Identify opportunities to leverage BI systems and propose innovative analytics and AI solutions.


• Design, develop, test and deploy advanced analytics, machine learning, forecasting, optimisation and AI solutions.


• Build models and analytical solutions supporting commercial, supply chain, finance, marketing and operational priorities.


• Develop GenAI, NLP and AI-enabled automation use cases where they deliver clear business value.


• Work with Data Engineers to ensure data pipelines, model inputs and production environments are reliable, scalable and fit for purpose.


• Apply MLOps practices to support model deployment, monitoring, governance, version control and continuous improvement.


• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and improve models, analytical processes and reusable data science patterns.

What You’ll Bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics or AI-related roles with measurable business impact.


• Advanced capability in Python, SQL, statistical modelling, machine learning and data analysis.


• Strong experience developing, validating, deploying and monitoring machine learning models in production environments.


• Practical experience with forecasting, optimisation, experimentation, NLP, GenAI, LLMs, prompt engineering and AI-enabled automation use cases.


• Experience with modern cloud and data platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent technologies.


• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.


• Proven leadership in projects and ability to mentor team members.


• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline is desirable but not required.

Role requirements:

• Some business travel may be required from time to time.


• Occasional after-hours work may be required to engage with stakeholders across time zones.
