Your new role
As a Senior Database Developer, you will support the development, testing and enhancement of the Data for the internal system-an essential data management platform.

What you'll need to succeed

Maintaining, improving and testing data management system

Installing software on on-premises hardware and cloud environments (including AWS)

Supporting the archival, rescue and formatting of meteorological and ocean data

Developing training material and delivering training to regional partners

Producing and maintaining technical documentation

Working closely with internal teams, Pacific stakeholders, and international collaborators

Providing remote and on-site technical support to users across the Pacific

Contributing to ongoing improvements across climate services and data platforms

What you'll get in return

Demonstrated experience developing and coding web-based database applications

Strong technical skills across Linux (Ubuntu), PostgreSQL, Python, HTML/PHP and JavaScript

Knowledge of AWS, Apache, Bootstrap, Leaflet, and Highcharts (highly regarded)

Experience developing and delivering IT/CDMS training, ideally within developing-country contexts

Ability to analyse and evaluate large climate and environmental datasets

Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders

Strong time-management skills with the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines

A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
