About the role

The Senior Digital Content Producer’s primary role is to source, write, build and publish on-brand content that grows audience, traffic, volume and brand awareness for The Australian Women's Weekly's digital platforms.

The Senior Digital Content Producer is accountable for enacting the agreed content strategy as well as supporting the Digital Managing Editor (DME) to ensure the efficient and successful day-to-day digital editorial operations.

Duties

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a real-time environment, having experience in creating original and high quality content in a variety of types, including fast-paced breaking news, SEO-based content, long-form features and social media content.

  • Ideating, pitching and creating the best original, most engaging and on-brand content for digital platforms.
  • Spotting great stories and having a passion to cover them before our competitors.
  • Working closely with the Digital Managing Editor and broader team to execute the brands' digital content strategy.
  • Being an active team player and playing a role in achieving the teams' KPIs.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Conducting interviews and attending events on behalf of the brand.
  • Using audience data to help build out content plans and grow engagement.

Skills and experience

The role would suit somebody with a solid knowledge of and passion for all things women's lifestyle, but who also enjoys creating content around celebrity, entertainment and royals. The ideal candidate will be a confident journalist who is passionate about brand and digital.

  • 3-5 years experience as a digital journalist.
  • Previous experience with content management systems, photo editing, SEO, and analytical tools such as Google Analytics.
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and changing business priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to both work independently, and as a collaborative member of the team.
