The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer – Drainage with strong experience in transport or infrastructure projects to join our Melbourne team. This is a permanent opportunity supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across VIC and nationally.

With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a capable and motivated drainage professional to contribute to the delivery of drainage design on complex projects, with limited exposure to flood-related analysis where required. You will play a key role in delivering technical outputs, while supporting junior engineers and contributing to high-performing multidisciplinary teams.

With 6+ years’ experience, this role presents an opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and take on increased responsibility across project delivery. You will work closely with experienced leaders to deliver high-quality analysis and design outcomes that meet client and industry standards.

You will have gained your experience within an engineering consultancy (or similar environment) and bring a proactive, collaborative approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to contribute confidently across multiple project stages. This role has a strong focus on drainage design, with exposure to flooding considered supplementary.

About You

Suitable applicants will have:

• Degree qualified – Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering or similar)
• 6+ years of Australian experience in drainage design and stormwater management
• Demonstrated experience on infrastructure projects (roads, highways, rail or urban development)
• Strong familiarity with Austroads Part 5, 5A & 5B and Australian Rainfall and Runoff (2019)
• Proficient in 12d Dynamic Drainage Analysis
• Ability to deliver technical design packages and contribute to project outcomes
• Experience supporting and mentoring junior engineers
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• A proactive approach with the ability to manage time and priorities across multiple deliverables
• Eligible to obtain RPEV (or working towards registration)
• Exposure to flood modelling tools (e.g. TUFLOW) is beneficial but not essential
