Senior Estimator

Job Description:

We are a Civil Engineering contractor with an established presence in the public and private sector. We look to employ a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our civil construction projects, working with both government sectors and private developers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive cost estimates for civil construction projects.
• Analyzing project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project requirements.
• Identifying and quantifying project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Utilizing estimating software and tools to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
• Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and construction schedules.
• Monitoring industry trends and market conditions to ensure competitive pricing.
• Reviewing subcontractor quotes and negotiating pricing agreements.
• Providing guidance and mentorship to junior estimators.
• Preparing methodologies and construction programs for the tendering phase
• Reviewing tender submissions

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of Three years of experience as a Senior Estimator in the civil construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and cost estimation.
• Familiarity with government sector projects.
• Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Relevant degree or certification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
