Senior Estimator - Commercial Fitout & Refurbishment

The Client:

My client is a nationally-established QLD-owned commercial construction group that delivers a diverse range of interior fitout, refurbishment and redevelopment projects valued up to 15mil. This group's portfolio spans across the commercial mixed-use, corporate workplace, hotel and resorts, luxury retail and hospitality, health and leisure, aged-care, fuel and petroleum, and tertiary education sectors. 

With 5 offices nationally, this group leverages strong relationships with a plethora of institutional blue-chip clients including property developers, property funds, retail & hotel brands, healthcare providers, and private sector clients. 

The Role:
 
As Senior Estimator you will be responsible for managing multiple tenders concurrently end-to-end, being supported by highly competent estimating, design and project delivery teams.  Working alongside the QLD Preconstruction and Estimating Managers, you will be heavily involved throughout the associated strategic preconstruction functions, leading the respective estimating, tender, ECI, and project planning phases. Operating in a client-facing capacity, you will take part in project pitches, tender interviews and contract negotiations, inline with securing projects and potential new work opportunities. 

Given the D&C nature of their work, there will be a high level of collaboration between the respective Client Strategy/Business, Preconstruction, Design and Project Delivery Teams nationally. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Assisting with leading QLD Preconstruction and Estimating functions, including ECI and tender processes 
• Manage key project stakeholders, including clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Write and review submission material to ensure that project specific requirements/criteria have been met
• Interpret, understand and execute head contracts - mitigating contractual risk  
• Take part during strategic client engagement functions inline with establishing/maintaining relationships and securing new work

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Have demonstrated experience pricing, estimating and tendering fitout and refurbishment projects valued up to 2mil - with a focus on the commercial, retail, hotel/hospitality and health & leisure sectors
• Have a deep understanding of technical construction methodologies, design management, value engineering and client engagement functions, as well as contract negotiation and commercial risk mitigation strategies 
• Have a strong network of existing clients and industry contacts across SEQ
