About the role

As a Senior Estimator, you will be managing relationships between insurance providers and ensuring quotation works are delivered on schedule, safely, and to a high standard. Providing a high level of customer service through the claim process.

Skills and experience

• A building related trade background or tertiary qualification in building and construction (or related discipline) is essential.
• 3-5 years previous estimating experience with at least 2 years in the insurance repair industry
• Detailed knowledge of domestic insurance industry and procedures
• Ability to provide accurate and detailed cost estimates on large loss and major loss claims
• Demonstrated experience in large loss insurance estimating and quotations.
• Ability to quote both insurance and commercial works and manage competing priorities.
• Sound knowledge of construction methodology, trades, materials and costs.
• Strong time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict KPI's.
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities with a calm and professional approach.
• Strong systems, operational and reporting skills with a willingness to work flexible hours and be adaptable to changed routines from time to time.
• Be familiar with WHS practices, legislation and regulations
• Strong negotiation skills with excellent decision-making skills.
• Excellent computer literacy with experience to Prime platform an advantage but not essential.
• A current driver's license with a clean driving history

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Carry out site assessments to determine cause of damage and return accurate reports, scopes of work and estimates in accordance with strict KPI's.
• Compile and submit tender packages in accordance with client requirements.
• Proactively ensure any discrepancies with quotations of projects are identified and addressed
• Identify and discuss any apparent trends regarding pricing
• Analysis of potential cost savings, gains, losses & profitability
• Keep customers informed regularly and respond to customer queries with diligence and professionalism 
• Maintain service levels under times of increased work volume, particularly during major events/storms.
• Ensure all quotes allow for and conform to legislative and contractual Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards 
• Develop relationships with key clientele in the Insurance and further market
• Adhere to insurance company and internal policies, KPI’s, and standards
• Assist customer service staff with client related queries

This role will be subject to a successful National Police Check.

Occasional interstate travel to other offices, to assist in the increased workloads following major events may be required.
