The Role

This is a rare opportunity to step into a true 2IC to the CFO position, taking ownership of the finance function within a fast-paced and evolving environment.

You will lead the end-to-end finance function, including month-end, year-end, reporting, compliance, forecasting, audit, and financial systems integrity, while partnering closely with operational leaders across the business.

A key focus of the role is strengthening working capital performance, particularly debtor management, where a clear, structured recovery and accountability approach is required.

You will also lead and develop a small finance team, drive continuous improvement across systems and reporting (including automation and BI tools), and provide high-quality commercial insight to support decision-making at a senior level.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and discipline
• Ownership of financial reporting, statutory compliance, and audit requirements
• Driving debtor management and working capital improvement initiatives
• Delivering budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning cycles
• Partnering with operational teams on revenue, costing, and financial performance
• Enhancing finance systems, automation, and reporting capability
• Providing clear, timely insights and reporting to the CFO and leadership team
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team (4 direct reports)
• Acting as a trusted commercial advisor across the organisation

Your Profile

You are a technically strong and commercially minded finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, operational environments.

You bring a calm, structured approach under pressure, paired with strong ownership and the ability to drive outcomes without close supervision. You are confident working with senior stakeholders, able to influence across different working styles, and comfortable balancing detail with strategic thinking.

You will bring:

• CA/CPA qualification with 5+ years' experience as a Finance Manager (or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting capability (month-end, year-end, audit, statutory reporting)
• Proven experience in working capital and debtor management
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Strong leadership experience within small to mid-sized finance teams
• Exposure to process improvement, automation, or BI/reporting tools
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
• Experience in healthcare, medical services, or complex service environments (highly regarded)
